About Me
I can't remember a time when I didn't sing.
I got my first guitar when I was nine, influenced by the folk legends of the 60s, including Peter, Paul, and Mary (my fave), Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan. I did musical theater and sang opera during my high school and college years, and joined my first band when I was 18, performing current pop hits mixed with older jazz standards (think Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole!).
I have been writing songs since my early teens, and continue to do so when the inspiration strikes. I thoroughly enjoy revisiting the music of my past, performing covers from James Taylor, Carly Simon, John Denver, and Jim Croce, to name a few.
During my Army career, I sang all over the world, competed in and won multiple vocal competitions, and toured with both the U.S. Air Force's 'Tops In Blue' showcase and the U.S. Army's 'Army Soldier Show' - the only person ever to be selected for both.
My recent collaboration with local San Angelo favorite singer/guitarist Ed Stabler has opened a whole new chapter in my musical book, introducing writers and songs I might never had discovered otherwise. Kelly Kingston, an incredibly versatile bass player rounds out the sound and has brought some wonderfully unique touches to several of the songs on my first CD, 'In The Booth'.
My music is best in a small, intimate venue - it's meant for relaxing, kicking back with some friends, having a glass of wine. You might choose to have a quiet conversation, but I hope that the words and music will draw you in and make you want to hold that thought . . . .for just a moment or two.
